Girasoles Montessori serves children 0 to 3 years old in Cambridge, MA
The Girasoles Massachusetts Montessori Parent-Child Program Is a unique opportunity for parents/caregivers in the Boston area to learn skills to support your child’s development with hands-on activities that you can do in your own home! All sessions will be held in Spanish and English by bilingual Montessori teachers.
We want to empower young children and parents/caregivers from low-income backgrounds through free Montessori education during a critical stage of child development.
By empowering caregivers to engage with their children through stimulating serve-and-return interactions, they are able to support the specific needs of your child based on their development.
We are nested at Violeta Montessori School, a member of the Wildflower School network. Violeta has been committed to fostering high-quality early education, community engagement, and social justice since the school's opening in Fall 2015. To better support our culturally and socioeconomically diverse school community, Violeta collaborates with the City of Cambridge to enroll families from low-income backgrounds through the B-3rd Scholarship Program.
Girasoles was established to further advance this mission by providing high-quality early education to families and children (0-3 years) from low-income backgrounds on Saturdays when more working parents are able to participate. Since March 2018, we have welcomed 32 families to the Girasoles community and look forward to working with more in the coming year.
We absolutely loved this program. The program provides a warm and welcoming place for kids to play and get to know other friends. Their kind and caring staff are so great with the kids! They understand the needs of the children and their parents. Their child-centered educational approach meets our desired environment for our daughter to flourish. Highly recommend!!

Girasoles program was really helpful for us. We've experienced strict type of Montessori school before but this was totally different experience for us. Teachers were so flexible and gentle to guide us. Things that we learned actually stays our life even now and we are really happy that we were part of Girasoles community.
